What is MADT?

Welcome to the Minnesota Association of Dance Teams website. 

MADT is a coaches association dedicated to the advancement of high school dance teams in Minnesota.

MADT Mission Statement and Purpose

Promoting Education, Communication, and Enrichment for High School Dance Teams

In order that MADT may assist and encourage the growth and improvement of dance team throughout the state of Minnesota, the following goals have been established:

1. To provide, promote and extend dance team activities.

2. To recommend uniform and equitable rules for schools participating in dance team activities to the Minnesota State High School League.

3. To monitor standards of sportsmanship and to encourage the growth of responsible citizenship among the students, members, and their personnel.

4. To provide efficient communication between the MADT Board of Directors and members.

5. To provide an opportunity for the growth and development of MADT coaches and student leaders.

6. To review and evaluate periodically the effectiveness of its program.

7. To improve communication between members.

8. To work in collaboration with the Minnesota State High School League for the betterment of Minnesota State Dance Teams.

 

MADT provides many benefits to Minnesota coaches:

  • Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) recognizes MADT as the resource for Minnesota dance team policy
  • members are eligible to participate in the MSHSL advisory committee
  • award opportunities:  coach of the year, coaches hall of fame, student scholarships and team academic awards
  • professional coaches development and annual coaches convention
  • student leadership development and annual student convention
  • quarterly communications
  • networking and social opportunities
  • Ethics committee
